If you pay tax in the UK, every £1 you give could be worth £1.28 to us - at no extra cost to you.
Through the Gift Aid scheme we can reclaim the tax on your donations. For every pound that you donate we can claim an extra 28p from Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs. We will also be able to reclaim the tax on any future donations you make.
In addition, assuming that you are a higher rate tax payer, you will be able to reclaim 20% (the difference between lower and higher rate tax) of the gross amount donated, meaning that it will cost you 75p to give the school £1.28!
The Campaign is currently collecting pledges; a pledged sum can either be in a lump sum or spread into 48 monthly payments. We will begin redeeming pledges from 1st September 2009.
This table shows some example gifts, how much they are worth to the Campaign, and the net cost to a higher rate taxpayer once the tax has been reclaimed from HMRC.
