The Nursery
Saint Ronan’s Nursery provides children with a gentle introduction to school life whilst establishing solid foundations. The Nursery is housed in the Groom’s Cottage and garden which has a homely feel for the children as they start their education.
Children begin in Nursery attending at least two morning sessions per week increasing their hours as they develop in maturity and stamina. Attendance is flexible to fulfil the needs of individual children and their parents.

Learning inside
The Nursery provides a stimulating and exciting environment for young children to continue on their journey of discovery and learning. The Nursery offers a well structured range of play, practical activities and child-initiated learning to help children grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially during these early years. Children are provided opportunities to build on key learning skills such as speaking, listening, concentration and learning to work together and co-operate with their peers.
Learning outside
Learning outside is always great fun when you have so many different environments to explore. Rambles, woodland walks, exploring habitats are a weekly feature for the Nursery children. There is also the responsibility of taking care of the Nursery guinea pig and vegetable plot and then enjoying cooking the produce and sharing a meal together.
New for Spring 2010: Mini Club
Children can enjoy a longer school day now with the introduction of Mini Club. Experienced, qualified Early Years staff will care for our youngest children while they enjoy their tea and play in the familiar and comforting surroundings of the Nursery. There will be time to relax during story time as well as have fun with friends.
