Sport

Cricket

Set within Saint Ronan’s impressive grounds are numerous pitches for all major games, a challenging cross country course and athletics facilities. The school also has a heated outdoor swimming pool, four tennis courts and the newly-opened Sports Hall. "The Founder's Hall" opened in the Summer of 2010 and provides facilities for indoor activities such as gymnastics, trampolining and badminton as well as cricket nets and a range of other sports.

We strongly believe that what goes on outside the classroom complements what goes on inside. Time and again we have seen children achieve success on the games field which has then translated into greater confidence and success in the classroom.

Badminton in the Founder's Hall

Taking some form of exercise each day is a necessary and important part of any child’s daily routine. Alongside curriculum PE lessons the school day at Saint Ronan’s also allows time for organized games every day and free time for the children’s own variations!

Participation in PE and Games allows pupils to develop their skills, tactical awareness, sportsmanship and fitness in a wide range of activities. Inter-school matches and house matches then provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the pupil’s ability in a more competitive environment.

Running alongside the Physical Education is the extra-curricular activities programme. The pupils choose if they wish to participate in additional activities such as judo, archery, sailing, dance, tennis, fencing, carpentry and LAMDA.
