School Development

The School in Worthing

Planning for Development

Saint Ronan’s, in common with many other organisations, has a five year Development Plan which is reviewed annually and covers all aspects of the School.

The period between 2003 and 2008 was one of intense activity and the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) as well as the Good School’s Guide both commented favourably on the very significant progress made.

The School has already achieved the objectives set out in the second plan which covered the period from 2008-13. Notable features have been the construction of a Sports Hall (2010), a second IT Suite (2010), refurbishment of the Ball Room for use as a Performing Arts Centre, the creation and equipping of Design & Technology Department (2011), the provision of a School Farm (2011), the complete refurbishment of the Dining Room (2012) and the introduction of the Forest School programme into the Early Years and Key Stage 1 curriculum (2012).

The essence of our on-going development is to maintain Saint Ronan’s as a medium size, co-educational day school which offers flexi-boarding. We want to protect the current aims and ethos, yet further the quality of the education experienced by the children.

A Tradition of Generosity

Most independent schools are not in a position where they can fund all of their development through their cashflow. Saint Ronan's is no different.

Many of the projects that are detailed in these pages have only been made possible because of the tradition of generosity that exists at the school, and hence the kindness and goodwill of its parents, staff and alumni.

The school is immensely grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years and we hope that the community will continue to help Saint Ronan's flourish in the years ahead.

The Future

The motto with regards the ongoing development of the school is to ‘Mind the Magic’ as well as create some of our own.
