The Whole Person

The Whole Person

An emphasis is placed on the development of the whole person and the curriculum is enhanced by a great variety of clubs which are offered to children in both the Pre-Prep and Prep School. We have also been careful to preserve time for unstructured play, something so often squeezed out of the school day.

The School’s extensive grounds form a well enclosed and safe playing area. We encourage children to make the most of the ‘great outdoors’. A favourite pastime is damming a stream called the Gulch and building an intricate connection of sluices.

Children in the older years take part in an Expedition Week held at the end of the Summer Term. This benefits the children both directly, through the experiences they gain, and indirectly, through the deepening of relationships between pupils and between pupils and their teachers. The link between such activities and improved academic performance is well established.

Saint Ronan’s is a registered charity and ensures that the education it provides is also for the public benefit. It also plays its part in local community life.
