The School
Saint Ronan’s is a co-educational Day and Boarding School
for boys and girls from 2½ to 13 years. It was founded in 1883
in Worthing and moved to its present site, Tongswood House,
in 1946.
Setting
Saint Ronan’s is an adventurous place to be young.
The rambling Victorian Mansion is set within 247 acres of
Wealden countryside – it has its own 100 acre wood, lakes, a
Pinetum, pitches for all the main sports, a golf course, tennis
courts and a swimming pool.
The School’s extensive grounds form a well enclosed and safe
playing area and are ideal for Treasure Hunts, Battleships and
other running games from “chain-he” to “Last to the flag pole.”
Importantly, the grounds help children to be children and just
let off steam. A favourite pastime is damming a stream called
the Gulch and building an intricate connection of dams and
sluices.
The grounds provide a valuable resource for both Science and
Geography projects.
