Anderson Shelters in Tongswood

Blessed with a beautifully sunny morning, 3KK trundled down to the woods equipped with the basic Anderson shelter materials ( wooden base, corrugated card and empty mini hessian bags). After a brief discussion what an Anderson shelter was, when and why they were used, the class were split into groups and sent off to make their very own model shelters using natural materials found in the woods. There was some super teamwork, communication, imagination and creativity shown in all the groups. Within the hour all the children had constructed some wonderful shelters. Now we wait for them to be judged by Mr Phillips, our Head of History. Watch this space…
