Every child learns in their own way and at their own pace. With today’s technology and a nurturing environment, learning at our school is fun, engaging and unforgettable.

We help children embrace the idea that they may not know something yet — encouraging curiosity, confidence and a determination to keep trying and discovering.

Reception

Our Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, helping children to grow in every area:

Building strong personal, social and emotional skills
Developing communication and language
Growing in physical confidence and coordination

Through dedicated lessons in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, alongside imaginative play, children begin their exciting learning journey.

Learning extends far beyond the classroom:
Adventure and discovery in our Forest School and Farm
Exploring the beautiful, historic school grounds
Expressing creativity through art, music and drama

Years 1 & 2

In Years 1 and 2, children enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum including: Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Computer Science, French, Music, PE and RE.

Hands-on activities, group projects and outdoor learning make lessons come alive. Whether recording the number of eggs laid on the farm or building shelters in Forest School, every experience helps deepen understanding and build real-world problem-solving skills.

Specialist teaching in Music, PE and French ensures every child can shine in their own way.

Our experienced teachers and teaching assistants work closely with parents and specialist staff to ensure every child feels valued and supported.

In our warm, family-style setting, children are encouraged to:

Boarding at Saint Ronan’s is a well-established tradition which aims to provide a secure, friendly and family style environment for the children. The house and grounds provide a wonderful setting for the boarders to flourish and become independent, organised and open-minded children.
