Curriculum

The content of the Courses Guide for each subject is a general overview, an insight into the long-term planning undertaken by each Department, and is naturally subject to a degree of adjustment through the school year. Additional information regarding the work done in class will be communicated to you at the end of the term(s) when school exams take place, as each child will be given access to Revision Guides, providing details of the topics covered over the past term(s).

You will find, for most subjects, a brief description of the philosophy, aims and objectives of the teaching, as well as a table outlining the topics studied each term. This will give you an idea of the expected progression for each year group, and the amount of necessary “repetition” that takes place in order to reinforce previous learning.

If you have any questions regarding the programme of study for a particular subject, feel free to contact the relevant Head of Department (as indicated at the beginning of the introduction for each subject). For more general queries, Mr Bryan will be happy to give you the information you might need concerning the academic organisation at the school.
