Mr Ian Palmer

Department: French Title: Teacher Qualifications: BA (Hons), PGCE, University of Kent Contact details: Life before Saint Ronan's I went to Kent University and completed a degree in French with Literature and then took a P.G.C.E at Christ Church, Canterbury. However, before settling down in the classroom, I was an H.G.V. driver for a number of years and am still the proud holder of a Class 1 licence. I was a driving instructor for a while, as well as being a Special Constable in Kent for 2 years. I taught in a number of schools before Saint Ronan's and (hardest of all) I also taught for Kent Adult Education! Roles at School I teach French and English and am a qualified Table Tennis coach. I am also the unofficial chief comic, with my vast array of extremely funny jokes (just ask any of the children!) Away from the Classroom I love gardening (under my wife’s supervision.) I play squash and can still, on a good day, beat my 30 year old son. I am a huge Blondie fan (Debbie Harry) and when time allows I love reading, especially the plays of Molière and the novels of Zola.
