Life before Saint Ronan's
My passion for teaching started in the south of Spain when I was teaching skiing to young children in La Sierra Nevada, near Granada. The idea of teaching languages came after completing a BA (Hons) in International Business and working in Canary Wharf. I was lucky to have the opportunity to train as a teacher at Cambridge and La Sorbonne (Paris) universities and therefore completed both a PGCE and a Maîtrise (French as a Foreign Language). Before starting at Saint Ronan’s in 2009 (has it really been that long?) I worked as a MFL teacher at Bedales and Hall Grove Prep Schools and La Sainte Union Secondary school in London. I much prefer being in the countryside.

Roles at School
At Saint Ronan’s I lead the French department and take charge of French scholars. I lead various local French trips and take Year 7 to Picardy in France for a week. I enjoy being a Year 6 Form Tutor and have run various clubs in the past, such as Scrap Book Club and Lego Club - and now Mme Buet and I have started a Spanish Club. Such fun!

Away from the Classroom
Outside school, I relish the opportunity to swim, walk, see friends or ‘fare niente ' - too rare - as my two children and the house keep me busy. With my husband, Simon, we love to discover new places, here or in France, but I must admit that my back-packing and hitch-hiking days are well over!
