Girls bowled over by former England star

Find out more below

The weather was on side as the year 6 and 7 girls enjoyed a fantastic cricket masterclass, kindly made possible by a parent, with ex-England women’s international Lydia Greenway. Lydia represented England 225 times during a career spanning 13 years, was a double World Cup winner and four times Ashes winner. In addition to her middle order batting, she is remembered as one of the best fielders in the women’s game. She is now passionate about promoting girls cricket and coaches the Kent ladies county team. The girls made the most of her expertise learning to bowl and bat, rotating through a circuit of activities. Lydia was very impressed with their skills, witnessing a number of great catches and balls that were hit well clear of the astro! It was non-stop action for the hour-long session which concluded with a long queue for autographs! Huge thanks to Lydia for visiting us and for giving us the best possible start to our first cricket season!
